Concerns About Poor Quality Kamaz Trucks Raised to Hayk Marutyan's Team: 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' daily reports: In recent days, it has become evident that the municipal authorities of Yerevan are struggling to manage garbage collection, with garbage accumulation visible almost everywhere. Our sources in the municipality attribute the situation to the 'culprit': the Kamaz brand trucks acquired back in 2019, which are unsuitable for our conditions.
According to the same source, warnings about the inadequacy of the vehicles were raised to Hayk Marutyan's team at that time, where, however, most members were unfamiliar with the specifics of the municipal economy. One of the workers engaged in street cleaning half-joked, half-seriously told us that at least these trucks worked for 2 years, which was unexpected because as soon as they arrived, 'some of them were already not functional.'
Incidentally, according to some information, the appropriateness of procurement of this equipment may be sent to law enforcement agencies. Recall that during Hayk Marutyan's tenure, there were numerous publications in the press and on social networks regarding these vehicles, some of which essentially reported on a crime. Specifically, the former head of the Davtashen administrative district, Ruslan Baghdasarian, noted that 60 million drams had gone missing as a result of the transaction to purchase 5 Kamaz trucks from Russia.'
