We Have Entered an Active Phase in the Process of Removing from the EU Aviation 'Black List': Gnel Sanosyan

Armenia has entered an active phase in the process of being removed from the European Union's aviation 'black list,' with at least half of the issues resolved. This was announced by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, during a discussion organized by the Economic Affairs Permanent Committee of the National Assembly, where he presented the preliminary draft of the Republic of Armenia's 2024 state budget.

Next year, it is planned to allocate 1.6 billion drams to the aviation sector.

“We have entered a fairly active phase regarding the process of being removed from the black list. We have resolved at least half of the issues we faced and are working on solving the other half—this includes retraining and various processes, for which funds are also allocated,” said Sanosyan.

In the Minister’s assessment, the sector currently has a fairly rapid pace of development.

Armenian aviation has been on the EU's 'black list' since June 2020, which prohibited all Armenian carriers from entering EU airspace.
