Nearly 1% of the population in Artsakh died in the 44-day war, compared to 0.1% from Armenia - Ioannisyan

The head of the 'Informed Citizens' initiative, Daniel Ioannisyan, has posted on his Facebook page:

“In the 44-day war, 763 servicemen and 72 civilians from Artsakh were killed. Meanwhile, 52 Armenians from Artsakh are missing... This accounts for nearly 1 percent of the population of Artsakh. In contrast, the percentage of casualties from Armenia is only 0.1 percent. One in thirty men capable of taking up arms in Artsakh died, while one in about 200 in Armenia perished. Thus, statistically, an average resident of Artsakh participated in the 44-day war at a rate nearly seven times more intensively than an Armenian resident.

Yes, I understand that certain circles related to Kocharian are attempting to incite conflict between Artsakh Armenians and those from Armenia. However, this does not justify Nikol Pashinyan's public statements that seem to pour fuel on the fire, creating the impression that Armenians from Artsakh only fled.

Furthermore, I can state that during the war, I frequently visited Stepanakert and can attest that until November 3, there was a significant population in that city, despite the repeated missile and artillery strikes occurring several times a day.”
