Man Attempts to Set Former Wife and Her Husband on Fire
On July 24 at 15:30, a 36-year-old woman from Gargarr village called the operational management center of the Lori region police and reported that her ex-husband had poured gasoline on their house in an attempt to set them on fire, and then struck her on the head with a rock. This information was provided by the official website of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
At 17:20, a report was received from the "Stepanavan" medical center indicating that a 66-year-old woman from Alaverdi had sought medical assistance for a left temporal contusion, hematoma, and right ankle joint contusion.
Criminal investigators from the Stepanavan division of police, acting on operational data, found that around 15:00, a 35-year-old man from Vanadzor had gone to his ex-wife's house, threatening to kill her. He then poured gasoline on his ex-wife, her husband, and her 66-year-old sister-in-law in an attempt to set them alight.
The ex-husband managed to wrestle away the lighter from the suspect and get them out of the house. In the yard, the 35-year-old man picked up a large rock and threw it at the 66-year-old woman from Alaverdi, causing injuries, and then struck his ex-wife on the head with another rock.
The 35-year-old man has been arrested and the documents have been submitted to the Stepanavan investigative division. Circumstances are under investigation.
