Israeli Parliament Passes First Bill in Judicial Reform Framework
The Israeli parliament has adopted the first bill in the framework of judicial reforms in its second and third readings, sparking a wave of mass protests. According to the Jerusalem Post, 56 opposition lawmakers boycotted the final vote and left the chamber.
A total of 64 lawmakers from the ruling coalition in the 120-seat Knesset supported the bill. It is noteworthy that large-scale protests against judicial reforms have been organized in various parts of Israel for an extended period. Today, the police deployed water cannons on the streets, resulting in injuries among protesters.
