ICRC Ready to Resume Humanitarian Aid Delivery to Artsakh with Parties' Agreement
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is ready to support the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, contingent upon the agreement of the involved parties. This information was conveyed to Sputnik Armenia by Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs for the ICRC delegation in Armenia, in response to a question regarding the possibility of resuming humanitarian aid deliveries.
"We are prepared to work and support the civilian population, of course, having the parties' agreement for our movements. Dialogue on this issue continues," Amatuni stated.
On July 22, ICRC staff transferred patients from Artsakh to Armenia for the first time since July 14. Stepanakert has also announced that Azerbaijan is prohibiting the ICRC from transporting even critically needed medications to Nagorno-Karabakh.
