Samvel Babayan: "There Is a Specific Package of Steps That Can Be Agreed Upon with Azerbaijan"
Former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Samvel Babayan, confirmed his proposal to engage in dialogue with Baku to establish mutual trust during an interview with journalist Arthur Kirakosyan. He added that he has a specific package of steps that can be agreed upon with Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Bagramyan 26 Telegram channel.
"If Azerbaijan demands the disbanding of our Defense Army, then to discuss this, it must create a green zone around us and withdraw its troops, because we cannot put down our weapons while it has them aimed at us. The Armenian authorities believe that their partners in the Artsakh leadership know what they are doing right now; I do not know. Perhaps after the sit-in, Araik Harutyunyan's next extreme step will be a hunger strike; I do not join such a frivolous type of struggle," he stated.
Regarding the deliveries through Aghdam, he said, "We need to come down to earth and understand that we are dealing with a situation that has arisen since November 9, 2020, rather than referring to events that occurred earlier."
