Issues Surrounding the Continued Operation of Kindergartens in Artsakh

Under the conditions of the blockade, the question of the continuity of kindergartens' operations is problematic due to the lack of food supplies and fuel. This was stated by Norair Mkrtchyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh, as reported by Artsakhpress.

“We will try to ensure the operation of preschool institutions during the month of July. If the situation remains unchanged, I regret to say that, most likely, we will not be able to facilitate the functioning of kindergartens in August,” the minister noted.

Mr. Mkrtchyan emphasized that in the current situation, preparatory work must be carried out actively to address the heating of educational institutions as part of the measures for winter preparedness. “The issues are complex, but we will strive to fully commence the new academic year on September 1. Regardless of everything, we must ensure the education of the younger generation, as it is a crucial strategic direction. To win in our struggle, we need not only strong arms but also bright minds and ample knowledge,” concluded the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Artsakh.
