Zakharova Discusses Possibility of Airlifting Food to Artsakh Residents
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, addressed the severe humanitarian situation in Artsakh due to the blockade by Azerbaijan during her weekly press briefing. She specifically discussed whether it is possible to deliver food to the Armenians in Artsakh via planes and helicopters under the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor.
“We are working with all parties, not only in the public domain, and regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid, as we understand, individual countries and international organizations are working on various solutions to this issue,” Zakharova said succinctly.
It is noteworthy that the office of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh reported the day before that the humanitarian situation in Artsakh is deteriorating hour by hour, with all stores emptied. It was noted that the complete absence of food and essential goods is causing immense suffering for 12,000 people, including 30,000 children. The Defender’s office has urged the international community to take urgent action.
