Ukraine Begins Using U.S.-Supplied Cluster Munitions Against Russians

Ukrainian military officials have started using U.S.-supplied cluster munitions against Russian forces. This was reported to The Washington Post by an anonymous Ukrainian official.

“Ukraine has begun using U.S.-provided cluster munitions in the southeast against Russian forces, attempting to break through heavily fortified Russian positions that have slowed down the Ukrainian summer offensive,” he stated.

The Ukrainian official mentioned that the munitions have been employed to destroy trenches in Russian positions. Previously, the Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrskyi, had stated that U.S. cluster munitions had already arrived in Ukraine and would soon be ready for use. According to media reports, their deployment is planned in Bakhmut.
