Shooting in Auckland Ahead of Women's World Cup Leaves Victims
This morning, on July 20, a shooting took place in Auckland, New Zealand, just hours before the start of the Women's World Cup.
As a result of the shooting, two people have been killed and six more injured. It is known that one of the injured is a police officer. The perpetrator opened fire at random on the crowd using a pump-action shotgun. The police report that the 24-year-old shooter is deceased, and it is still unclear what motivated him to take this action.
The country’s authorities have stated that the incident is not being considered a terrorist act. It is noted that the football tournament will proceed as scheduled.
