EU Extends Toivo Klaar's Mandate for One Year
The European Council has today extended the mandate of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, for one year. According to the Council's press release, Klaar's mandate has been extended until August 31, 2024.
It is noteworthy that Klaar was appointed as the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia on November 13, 2017. His role is to facilitate the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region and encourage cooperation among the countries of the South Caucasus.
