Argentina Refuses to Accept Russian Liquefied Gas Ship
The Argentine government has blocked the unloading of a cargo of liquefied natural gas of Russian origin for the state energy company Enarsa, Bloomberg reports.
Economy Minister Sergio Massa stated in an interview with the Argentine C5N television that the decision was made due to the Russian origin of the cargo. Authorities have addressed the sanctions against Russia.
The gas carrier Flex Artemis, loaded with production from the Russian company Yamal LNG, was heading to the Argentine terminal in Bahia Blanca. The vessel approached on July 14 but turned back on July 18 without unloading, the agency clarified.
Bloomberg notes that there are no sanctions against Russian LNG, but some European countries have banned the import of Russian liquefied gas, while others have called for not extending supply contracts.
