Why the Fine for the Tinted Windows of a Citizen's Car Was Revoked: Clarification

Today, social media and news websites have spread publications titled "The First Victory Against Car Window Tinting" regarding the satisfaction of a citizen's appeal and the revocation of a fine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports this.

To avoid potential misinterpretations arising from the title of the publication, the Ministry of Internal Affairs finds it necessary to state that the basis for revoking the decision No. 8300637489, made on June 11, 2023, was the failure of the police officer to reflect the data from the window tint measurement device in the administrative act; in other words, it was not specified which measuring device was used for the inspection.

In the context of administrative appeal, the Police objectively revoked the act, considering the absence of specific measuring device data in the administrative act. Consequently, the administrative act was revoked solely due to the failure to indicate the required data. The revocation has no connection to the overall process of imposing administrative liability for violations of window light transmittance requirements and represents a specific case.
