Video: Fire at Crimean Polygon, Over 2000 People Evacuated
The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced on his Telegram channel about the planned evacuation of residents from four settlements in the Kirovskoye district of the republic. The reason cited for the evacuation is a fire that broke out at a military ammunition polygon.
“Residents from four settlements adjacent to the Kirovskoye polygon are planned to be temporarily evacuated, which amounts to more than two thousand people,” the statement from the peninsula’s leader reads. He added that an operational headquarters has already been established and all relevant services are working on-site.
“I urge everyone to trust only verified sources of information,” Aksyonov emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that an ammunition depot caught fire near the village of Alexeyevka in Crimea. Before this, Sergey Aksyonov had announced the closure of the Tavrida highway. According to him, the highway was closed due to the fire at the Kirovskoye polygon. No further details were provided.
