No Anomalous Heat Expected in Armenia, Maximum Temperature Will Reach 38°C: Surenyan
No anomalous heat is expected in Armenia in the coming days, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 38°C. This was stated by Gagik Surenyan, the Deputy Director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
"From July 19 to 21, the air temperature across the republic will rise by 5-7 degrees. The highest temperatures will be observed on July 20-21 in the low-lying areas of Yerevan, the Ararat Valley, and the Syunik lowland area, reaching up to 38 degrees. We have experienced a similar year in 2009, when Armenia was under the influence of relatively cool air currents coming from the Black Sea, which brought both precipitation and a decrease in air temperature," said Surenyan.
He added that temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or higher are considered anomalous heat.
