Peskov States There Are Currently No Plans for Putin to Meet Erdogan

The Russian President Vladimir Putin currently has no scheduled interactions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. According to his statements, quoted by TASS, following Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal and other events, Putin does not plan to hold negotiations with the Turkish president.

“There are currently none,” Peskov said. Last week, the Kremlin representative also indicated that Putin has no intention of holding a phone conversation with Erdogan.

Earlier, Erdogan had announced that he plans to call Putin to discuss the grain deal without waiting for the Russian president's visit, which could take place in August. Erdogan also mentioned that the agreement on grain exports from Ukraine's Black Sea ports would become a topic for upcoming negotiations that Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will conduct with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
