John Kirby: Grain Prices Worldwide Could Rise Due to Moscow's Decision

After Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal, the "only option" left for exporting agricultural products from Ukraine is a land corridor. This was stated by John Kirby, a representative of the U.S. National Security Council, during a briefing.

According to Kirby, exporting Ukrainian grain through land routes will be less efficient than by sea, but the U.S. is not considering the option of escorting cargo ships with warships.

"The only option that exists is to transport by land, by rail, and by truck. Of course, everything in Ukraine is now being moved over land routes. This is more difficult and less efficient," Kirby said.

It has been reported that Kirby blamed Russia for the suspension of the deal, noting that due to Moscow's decision, grain prices worldwide could rise.

Recall that yesterday, on July 17, the term of the grain deal expired; Russia announced that its obligations were not fulfilled, and therefore it is halting the Black Sea agreements that were signed in Istanbul.
