Video: The Birth of Karen Avagyan's Brother, Who Died in the 44-Day War
The 44-day war took away the only child from the Avagyan family. Karen had been serving for several months when the war broke out. He fought alongside his friends and became immortalized, posthumously awarded a medal for bravery.
Shortly after Karen's death, Nelly Avagyan realized that if life continues, then she must become a mother once again. After confirming her pregnancy, she arrived at the Erebuni Hospital Women’s Health Center. Thus began Nelly's long journey at the Erebuni maternity hospital.
The emotional state of the pregnant woman, her experiences, and certain health issues constantly required the doctors to monitor the risks of miscarriage and premature birth. Thanks to the doctors in the high-risk pregnancy department, they were able to carry the pregnancy to 36 weeks, after which the director of the maternity hospital, Andranik Poghosyan, performed a cesarean section.
The little one was born weighing a little over 3 kg and measuring 47 cm in height. The parents named him Karen once again, saying that they want to hear the name Karen in their home again.
Nelly Avagyan dreams that her little one will be like her heroic brother—brave and kind. Just a few days old, Karen has already managed to bring a smile to his mother’s face, and now they both have the hope and desire to live on.
