Video: Parent of Disabled Veteran Complains to Pashinyan About Change in Disability Status
During his visit to the Ararat province, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, was approached by a citizen who expressed concerns about the difficulties faced in obtaining disability status for his son, who has been disabled since the war.
"The child returned from the war in this condition, yet the status has changed. What is the reason? No one is telling us," said the citizen.
Prime Minister Pashinyan acknowledged that the issue pertains to the disability assessment system, which is currently being aligned with international standards. He explained, "What does the international standard say? It says to assess not whether the person has a limb or not, but whether they can walk or not. Because there are individuals who have both legs intact but cannot walk."
