The Situation in Artsakh is Deteriorating Day by Day, with Increasing Intensity, Says Artak Beglaryan

Day by day, the situation is worsening, and the pace of deterioration is higher than the previous day. This was noted by Artak Beglaryan, an advisor to the President of Artsakh, in an interview with NEWS.am.

According to him, the main issue is the shortage of fuel. "In particular, public transport has been reduced significantly. On Friday, the president specified a clear number indicating that it has decreased by around 50 percent. Now that number could be 70-80 percent. The harvest operations are quite difficult due to the fuel shortage as well. The healthcare system is operating under considerable stress because during electricity supply disruptions, we need fuel-powered generators that are no longer functioning adequately. The same applies to emergency service vehicles, which are facing fuel shortages. Although we are still able to supply them, difficulties may arise there in a few days as well," Beglaryan emphasized.

Regarding food, there is not so much a lack of food, although that exists too, but considering that it is summer, vegetables are being produced. It is possible to provide the population with locally produced food for some time; however, given the fuel shortage, we are experiencing difficulties in supplying food from the fields, greenhouses, and production facilities to all settlements. The situation with medication is stable but deteriorating day by day. It is stable because the supply was halted on June 15 and resumed on June 25 through the Red Cross. Even now, we are able to distribute the medicine delivered during that time to both pharmacies and hospitals," Beglaryan added, highlighting that since June 15, apart from medicines, which have been imported multiple times by the Red Cross, no other supplies—be it food, fuel, hygiene products, etc.—have been imported from Armenia to Artsakh.
