The US has prohibited the Pentagon from using maps that depict Taiwan as part of China. This was reported by Svzhesti.
The House of Representatives has approved the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2024, which plans for $886 billion in spending for the Department of Defense. The legislation includes an amendment proposed by Representative Tom Tiffany, known as 'fair maps', which bans the US Department of Defense from spending funds on maps that show Taiwan as part of Chinese territory.
The legislation stipulates: 'No funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act may be used to create, acquire, or display any map that depicts Taiwan, Kinmen, Matsu, Penghu, Wuqiu, Orchid Island, or Green Island as part of the territory of the People's Republic of China.'
