Washington has not yet officially permitted Ukrainian military pilots to be trained on American F-16 fighter jets, as Europe awaits formal confirmation from the U.S. regarding the training of F-16s. This was reported by Politico, citing its sources.

According to the sources, nearly a dozen European countries that have pledged to train Ukrainian pilots are still waiting for U.S. official approval, without which they cannot commence the training of Ukraine's armed forces.

The publication noted that training is set to begin in August in Denmark, with a regional training center to be established in Romania. However, this process cannot start until the U.S. State Department officially authorizes the transfer of instruction, simulators, and other necessary equipment.
