Is There Anything to Expect from the Next Brussels Meeting? "Fact"
On July 15, a meeting is scheduled in Brussels involving Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and European Council President Charles Michel. This is reported by the "Fact" newspaper.
“Following the meeting that took place on June 1 in Moldova, the parties had planned to meet again on July 21, but for various reasons, they have slightly ‘brought forward’ this meeting. The question of whether any positive outcomes can be expected from the upcoming Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting is understandably more rhetorical in the current context. It is evident that nothing positive for Armenia and the Armenian people is anticipated, especially considering that the same rhetoric regarding Artsakh is being voiced by Nikol Pashinyan, who represents Armenia.”
“Not only the venue of the meeting, but also the mediator, or as you would say, the ‘godfather,’ and the circumstances under which this meeting will take place are significant. Look: the Azerbaijani side, which has openly violated all possible agreements and has tightened the blockade following Nikol Pashinyan’s declaration that ‘Artsakh is Azerbaijani,’ has also increased the number of military provocations. They do not hide their intentions and methods aimed at exterminating the Armenian population of Artsakh, leading them to slaughter and starvation.”
“In such circumstances, Nikol Pashinyan, who has proclaimed himself the ‘most patriotic person,’ remains silent about Artsakh and does not set any preconditions for Aliyev. Moreover, Pashinyan does not place any precondition before Charles Michel either. If Europe deems such a meeting to be so necessary, then they should exert sufficient pressure on their fishhooks, oil dollars, and the gas supplies that they urgently need to at least open the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and ensure movement without encountering Azerbaijani ‘checkpoint’ marauders.”
“Will they? Then let Pashinyan dash to Brussels again to meet with his favorite ‘cultured and constructive’ Aliyev. Meanwhile, Nikol Pashinyan is not only failing to set such demands or conditions but, as if nothing happened, is facilitating the acceleration of this meeting while at the same time, his representatives are attending the delimitation commission meetings.”
“Well, if the representative of Armenia sees no issues in meeting with the Azerbaijani leader amid the blockade of Artsakh and discussing some ‘peace agreement,’ why should Charles Michel or any other foreign figure be worried? And Nikol Pashinyan probably wants to not only fulfill but also over-fulfill his ‘peace plan.’ This will only result in new losses, new incomprehensible concessions to the enemy, and the encouragement of the enemy's plans to attack the remains of Armenia and annihilate the Armenian people.”
“You may sign 1000 ‘peace agreements,’ yet peace will not materialize. The enemy's plans remain unchanged—elimination of Armenia, extermination, slaughter, and killing of Armenians. If someone has eaten their brains with bread and holds onto any illusions, there’s nothing we can do to help them. But those who haven’t will understand that under such conditions, such a situation, no peace can exist, but rather there will be the gradual Turkification of Armenia on one hand and the Azerbaijaniization, factual occupation of Armenia on the other. This is the reality; there is no other ‘peace’ intended for Armenia, especially for the Armenia represented solely by Nikol Pashinyan.”
