Vitaly Balasanyan Used Violence Against NSS Employees

On July 13, 2023, during the execution of a criminal case and with the court's permission, a search was conducted at the house belonging to Vitaly Balasanyan. During this search, Balasanyan threatened representatives of the National Security Service (NSS) with violence that endangered his life and health, related to their official duties. This information has been released by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Artsakh.

Subsequently, while attempting to remove Balasanyan from the location of the search, individuals present at the house, identified as A. B., V. B., and G. Y., committed acts of non-life-threatening violence against NSS employees, physically pulled them, and attempted to obstruct the actions of these representatives of the authorities by resisting.

In connection with the described incident, a criminal case was initiated on July 13, 2023, in the Special Investigation Department of the Artsakh Republic Prosecutor's Office under the first part of Article 337 of the Artsakh Criminal Code, which pertains to the crime of using violence against a representative of the authority. V. B. has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing. The supervision of the legality of the pre-trial criminal proceedings and procedural leadership is carried out by the senior prosecutor of the Artsakh Republic Prosecutor's Office.
