Prime Minister’s Spokesperson on the Movement Launched in Artsakh
The authorities in Armenia understand the need for civil actions aimed at making the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the Azerbaijani blockade more visible to the international community. This was stated by Prime Minister's Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan in an interview with Armenpress, referring to the demands in Stepanakert to stop the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, which began early in the morning.
“The Armenian authorities are aware of the consequences of the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor on the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh and the ethnic cleansing policy pursued by Azerbaijan. Civil actions aimed at bringing these issues to the attention of the international community are significant. The Armenian government is making efforts in this regard,” Baghdasaryan said.
She emphasized that the international community must take effective measures to implement the binding legal decisions of the International Court of Justice dated February 22 and July 6 regarding the unblocking of the Lachin Corridor. The Armenian government also underscores that a dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert that addresses the rights and security agenda of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh within an international mechanism is a necessity.
