Biden: Ukraine's NATO Membership Would Lead to World War III

U.S. President Joe Biden stated during a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö that Ukraine's accession to NATO amid ongoing military operations with Russia would signify the beginning of World War III. This was reported by РИА Новости.

“No one joins NATO during a war. An attack on a NATO country means participating in World War III. The question is not whether they should join, but when they can join NATO,” said the American leader.

Previously, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also mentioned that Ukraine could become part of the North Atlantic Alliance after the conflict within the state concludes. He added that Kyiv needs to implement a series of reforms to meet the alliance's requirements.
