NATO Summit Reveals Alliance's Intention to Concentrate Forces Near Russia's Borders, Says Russian Ambassador to the U.S.
The NATO summit held in Vilnius demonstrated that the alliance aims to concentrate more troops near Russia's borders. This was stated by Anatoly Antonov, the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
“We have no room for retreat. The aggressive decisions made at the summit will not undermine Russia's confidence in the validity of its actions. There is no doubt that the objectives of the military special operation will be fully accomplished,” Antonov was quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to Antonov, the statements made in Vilnius also confirmed NATO's anti-Russian stance. He noted that the alliance has directed all its resources towards combating Russia.
At the same time, Antonov emphasized that Washington is attempting to blame Russia for the crisis in the architecture of European security, for which there is no evidence. “The United States is prepared to go to extremes to maintain its dominant position in the international arena. They are unable to cope with the idea of losing global leadership,” the ambassador concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that as a result of the meeting in Vilnius, NATO leaders confirmed a multi-year support package for Ukraine to meet the alliance's standards for compatibility with its armed forces.
