Turkish Journalist Accuses Toivo Klaar of Inaction Against Azerbaijani Tyranny
Turkish journalist Uzay Bulut has responded on his Twitter microblog to a tweet from Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, on the morning of July 9. This was reported by Ermenihaber.
Specifically, Klaar had tweeted on July 9 regarding the restoration of gas supplies from Armenia to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), stating, "It is good to read that gas supply to Khankendi/Stepanakert has been restored this morning." However, just a few hours later, the gas supply was completely halted once again.
In response to the EU representative's post, Bulut wrote, "It is disheartening that you lack the courage and integrity to intervene while you sit back and watch the Azerbaijani murderous dictatorship erase Artsakh. Is this the way you wish to enter history: as a cowardly peacemaker who allowed genocide to occur?"
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has kept the Lachin Corridor (the Goris-Stepanakert road) closed since December 12, 2022. Initially, it was blocked by so-called Azerbaijani environmentalists under the pretext of damaging emissions from nearby mining operations. Concurrently, the supply of gas and electricity was also interrupted. Later, Azerbaijan explained the continued closure of the corridor as a preventive measure to halt the supply of weapons being transported from Armenia to Artsakh.
On April 23, the Azerbaijani border service had closed another section of the same road, installing a checkpoint at the bridge in Hakari. During this time, gas and electricity supplies from Armenia to Artsakh were disrupted and have not yet been restored.
