Shoigu Threatens to Use Cluster Munitions in Ukraine if Such Weapons Supplied to Kyiv

"We will use cluster munitions in Ukraine if such weapons are supplied to Kyiv," stated Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, as reported by RBC.

According to the Russian Defense Minister, Moscow possesses cluster munitions that can be used for "various purposes." He noted, "They are much more effective than the American ones." Meanwhile, Russia has so far refrained from using them in military operations, recognizing the potential dangers such munitions pose to civilian populations.

It should be noted that cluster bombs, when detonated, release many smaller projectiles that cover large areas. Not all of these projectiles explode at once, transforming into "dud shells," which also pose a danger to civilians.
