Has Hagazaryan Argued with His Wife over Takhouhi Tovmasyan? MP's Response

Hovik Hagazaryan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, who has submitted a draft to dismiss the head of the Human Rights Defender's (OMD) commission, Takhouhi Tovmasyan, has found himself embroiled in a family scandal. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

“He officially wrote in his draft (though in reality, it was the experts and the secretary of the Civil Contract faction, Arthur Hovhannisyan, who wrote it for him) that Takhouhi Tovmasyan disrupted the work of the OMD commission by not participating in the parliamentary council meetings. The fact is that Hagazaryan's wife works as a postwoman in the Parliament, and the most that journalists see of her is entering and leaving the OMD commission. In other words, the most active commission in Parliament is actually the Human Rights commission, which operates from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Hagazaryan's wife has scolded her husband, saying why did you write lies; they are indeed working well in the Human Rights commission; you are putting yourself and us in disgrace. I am the one delivering the letters, making sure they are signed,” the media outlet reported.

Auroranews contacted MP Hovik Hagazaryan to verify the information, and he denied the claims during the conversation. “I cannot say; it’s very strange. How can a kitchen conversation become a public issue? We don’t discuss this at all,” said Hagazaryan.

When asked whether his wife works in the Parliament, the MP responded, “Not anymore; there was a vacant position, she worked there, but she is on leave now and will not be working from September.”
