By Closing the Red Cross Route, Azerbaijan is Preparing to Open a Checkpoint: David Babayan

The behavior of Azerbaijan is a consequence of the amorphous and toothless policies of the international community. This was stated by David Babayan, advisor to the President of Artsakh, in a conversation with NEWS.am.

“During the restoration of gas supply, there were people who rejoiced, but we must realize with whom we are dealing and be more cautious in such situations because they do nothing without a reason. This is a form of torture. There is no other explanation. The blockade of the Red Cross entrance is simply a pretext, a policy to later establish a checkpoint or a form of torture, but this is a consequence of the fact that we have an amorphous concept in the face of the international community. They are not taking any steps to prevent this reckless behavior,” Babayan noted.

According to Babayan, anything can be expected from Azerbaijan. They seek to colonize Artsakh. It is time to have honest conversations with several countries, and Armenia needs to have a definitive position.

“We need everything, but most of all we need the care of the Armenian people. Some media outlets are already using the term 'LPR', which is terrifying, but we need to know the final position of the Armenian people, perhaps this is what they want. Russia must also declare a clear position. Is there a point in that cursed agreement that allows Azerbaijan to establish a checkpoint? If not, then Russia must fulfill its obligations. This issue must be resolved at the Kremlin level, and that is why we are addressing the President of the Russian Federation,” he emphasized.
