Peskov Confirms Putin and Prigozhin Meeting Reports: Details

The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, has confirmed that Vladimir Putin met with the head of the Wagner private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, at the Kremlin.

According to Peskov, the meeting took place on June 29 and lasted three hours. It involved 35 people, including all commanders and leaders of the brigade, as well as Prigozhin himself.

The Kremlin spokesman clarified that during the negotiations, Putin evaluated the actions of PMCs in the course of the special operation and the rebellion that occurred on June 24. The President also listened to the Wagner commanders, who presented their version of events and stated that they are ready to “fight even more for the homeland.”

In response to a question about whether Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu was present at the meeting, Peskov indicated that he had nothing else to say regarding this event.
