Deputy Head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Mobilization Department Killed in Krasnodar

Stanislav Rzhitskin, the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's mobilization activities department, has been killed in Krasnodar, according to reports from TASS citing law enforcement sources. The Krasnodar administration confirmed his death to RBC.

"Law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of his death," the media reported.

Representatives of the law enforcement agencies informed TASS that “an unidentified individual shot the man multiple times and then fled the scene.” Investigators are working to determine the motive and identify suspects, according to the source.

Earlier, the SHOT Telegram channel, referencing various media outlets, reported that Rzhitskin was shot while jogging in the morning. The channel claims that the assailant fired at him four times.

According to TASS, Rzhitskin held the rank of captain 2nd class and was a former commander of the “Krasnodar” submarine.
