Azerbaijan Deliberately Subjecting 120,000 Residents of Artsakh to Real Terror: Arman Tatoyan
Azerbaijan aims to forcibly displace the native population of Artsakh, the Armenians, from their homeland, with the intent of ethnic cleansing. Since December 12 of last year, a humanitarian disaster has been wrought by a total blockade. It has been the 210th day that the people of Artsakh are cut off from the world.
Since January 9, Azerbaijan has completely halted the supply of electric energy from Armenia, and it has yet to be restored. This was stated by Arman Tatoyan, head of the 'Tatoyan' foundation and former Human Rights Defender of Armenia on his Facebook page.
“Since March 21, Azerbaijan has completely ceased the supply of gas from Armenia to Artsakh, whereas prior to that, it would stop and resume supply intermittently. From June 15, all types of humanitarian supplies (food, fuel, medicines, hygiene products, etc.) to Artsakh have been halted. Beginning June 25, only the delivery of medicines is being carried out through the International Committee of the Red Cross, and even that is under strict limitations. On July 8, it was reported that gas supply to Artsakh had been restored, but from midday on July 9, gas supply was once again halted.
Moreover, this entire political strategy is being conducted deliberately to instill uncertainty and anxiety among the people. Even for the most basic needs such as transporting people to hospitals and food acquisition, residents are unable to refuel their vehicles. Even bread factories are unable to operate. In this way, the Azerbaijani government is deliberately subjecting the 120,000 residents of Artsakh to real terror, creating a state of complete isolation, an uncertain situation, and a sense of anxiety over life and health, leading to desperation.
This is a natural manifestation of the ongoing criminal policy of hatred and enmity of the Azerbaijani authority, stemming from their real intentions,” he wrote.
