US 'Wonder Weapon' Will Not Affect the Course of Special Military Operation, Maria Zakharova
The decision of the United States to supply cluster munitions to Ukraine is aimed at prolonging the crisis, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The Biden administration's decision to supply cluster munitions to the Kyiv regime is yet another glaring manifestation of the U.S. aggressive anti-Russian course, aimed at dragging out the conflict and war in Ukraine as long as possible until the ‘last Ukrainian’,” the statement published on the ministry's website reads.
According to her, “this is a cynical attempt to extend the mental crisis of the current Ukrainian authorities, disregarding the casualties among the civilian population.”
She added that the continuous expansion of military supplies, which the American administration intends to maximize in order to “raise the stakes” in the conflict, means deeper and deeper involvement of the U.S. and its satellites in combat operations. “The international community has no right to ignore these obvious facts and must respond accordingly,” Zakharova emphasized.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called the transfer of cluster munitions a “gesture of desperation and a sign of impotence against the backdrop of failure of the Ukrainian ‘counteroffensive’.” Zakharova also added that the next “wonder weapon” that is being bet on in Washington and Kyiv, without considering the heavy consequences, will in no way affect the course of the special military operation, whose goals and objectives will be fully achieved.
