Unannounced Visit of Polish President to Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on July 9. He, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, visited the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Lutsk, Ukraine.

It was noted that the day before, it was announced that events would be held at the cathedral to commemorate the victims of World War II and the 80th anniversary of the Volhynian tragedy.

Duda and Zelensky participated in a memorial service. “Memory unites us. Together we are stronger,” wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel, sharing photos from the meeting.

It should also be noted that President Zelensky discussed the NATO summit scheduled for July 11-12 with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda during their meeting in Lutsk. “During the events in Lutsk, Andrzej Duda was able to speak briefly but very meaningfully about the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. We agreed to work together to achieve the best outcome for Ukraine,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
