He posted a video from the island on his social media pages, writing: '500 days of full-scale war, Snake Island, free Ukraine's free island.' Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian armed forces, stating that the liberated island is strong evidence that Ukraine will reclaim every part of its territory.

'I am grateful to all those who fought here against the invaders. We honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in this battle, one of the most significant during the full-scale war,' the President added.
