VIDEO: How a Russian Lawyer Was Doused with Green Paint, Sustaining Second-Degree Burns
Elena Ponomaryova, a lawyer from the Moscow Region Lawyers' Association, who was doused with green paint yesterday, has sustained second-degree burns to her eyes. She spoke about the incident on her VKontakte page.
“Friends, I need your help: I have received a second-degree burn to my eye. Unknown individuals poured green paint on me at a bus stop in Moscow, at 16th Rue Rublevskoe, 1. I have previously received threats to my life and health, my car has been painted, and the tires have been punctured,” she wrote.
“I have contacted the police, but there have been no results. I want the instigator and the contractors to be found and held accountable,” she added.
The lawyer links the attack to her professional work. In 2021, she was a witness in a case involving the bribery of Judge Sergey Kotov from the Litkarinskiy City Court, who was accused of accepting 13 million rubles in bribes.
