Military-Political and Humanitarian Situation in Artsakh: Araik Harutyunyan Calls for Consultation

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, convened a consultation on July 5 to discuss the operational military-political and humanitarian situation, as well as the actions the authorities should take. This was reported by the president's press service.

“In his address, the president emphasized that the growing threats from Azerbaijan and the complete suspension of humanitarian transfers are posing serious challenges to the existence of the people of Artsakh amidst the increasingly deteriorating security and humanitarian situation,” said the statement.

“The authorities of Artsakh have presented and continue to present the existing situation, threats, and our expectations to the governments of Armenia and Russia, as well as to other actors in the international community. There is an urgent need for all responsible actors to take prompt and effective actions within their respective obligations. Under the conditions of the existential alarm we raise, the people and authorities of Artsakh expect tangible results in a short time towards mitigating the security and humanitarian situation and lifting the blockade.”

“Of course, within our severely limited capabilities, we are doing everything possible to control the situation, having developed action plans based on several scenarios. In this context, I would like to emphasize that the Republic of Artsakh remains committed to its constructive stance and is ready to discuss and resolve all issues through civilized dialogue and peaceful means,” Araik Harutyunyan added.

A discussion was also held regarding the current outcomes of the phone call between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Russia, as well as other agenda items at the request of the President of Artsakh. At the end of the meeting, the president issued appropriate instructions to the authorized bodies,” the report stated.
