Logical Question Arises: Where Do Opposition Leaders Get Confidence That There Will Be No War? - Taron Chakoyan
When prominent opposition figures declare that there will be no war, a question arises about the source of their information. This point was raised by Taron Chakoyan, deputy head of the Prime Minister's Office, on his Facebook page. Aram Orbelian, a co-initiator of the initiative called 'Hayakve' and an attorney for Robert Kocharyan, stated during a public television broadcast yesterday that there will be no war.
A logical question arises about where the opposition derives such confidence that there will be no war. It can be assumed that they have received information directly from Aliyev.
Regarding the 'Hayakve' initiative, it aims to embroil Armenia in a new war and endanger the statehood of the Republic of Armenia. On one hand, they are softening the public's understanding by suggesting that there will be no war, while on the other hand, through the 'Hayakve' initiative, they are transforming the Nagorno-Karabakh issue into a territorial dispute. They imply that if you do not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, it means you have territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which serves as a basis for a new war for Azerbaijan.
However, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has never been a territorial dispute; it has always been a matter of the rights and security of the Armenians living in their historical homeland in Nagorno-Karabakh.
