IAEA Finds No Signs of Mining at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that no signs of mining were detected during its latest inspections at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. This was announced by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

“Just a few hours ago, I was in contact with the experts of the IAEA permanent mission at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. We are aware of the claims and statements from both sides. (...) During our recent inspections, we did not record any signs of mining activity, but we remain extremely vigilant,” Grossi said, commenting on reports regarding potential threats of diversion.

It is worth noting that Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, “The threat of diversions by Kyiv at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is significant, and the consequences could be catastrophic; Russia is taking all necessary measures to counter these threats at the station.”
