Video: Recording Released, Responsible Military Officer Calmly Listens to Reports of Barrack Fire
A recording has recently surfaced in the hands of the parents of 15 soldiers who were turned to ash overnight in a military barrack. The duty soldier reports to one of the military officers in charge about a fire: “How calmly the responsible military officer listens,” said Misha Dumikian, father of one of the fallen soldiers, as reported by Azatutyun.
“It’s as if they were waiting, as if it were all normal,” said Karen Dumikian.
The father of the deceased Haik Kirakosyan, Gabriel Kirakosyan, also expressed his concerns: “Who is responsible, I mean, who should be. That should have been at least the 10th question for him. No panic, nothing.”
This call occurred on January 19 at 1:12 AM, with the fire already fully engulfed and 15 soldiers inside.
“For a fire to reach that level in just 30 minutes is highly suspicious,” said attorney Norair Norikyan, representing the parents of the deceased soldiers.
The parents' lawyer is convinced that a cup of gasoline poured over a stove fire by officer Yeghishe Hakobyan could not have been the cause of such a tragedy. According to the examination, the cause of death for the 15 soldiers was carbon monoxide poisoning and burn shock.
