VIDEO: 5 Drones Downed in Moscow Region and New Moscow
In Russia, in New Moscow, four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down, one of whose wreckage caused a fire in a residential building. This was reported by TASS, citing the Russian emergency services.
"Overall, the air defense and electronic warfare forces repelled attacks from four UAVs in three settlements in New Moscow. The wreckage of one of them sparked a fire in a multi-storey residential building. No casualties have been reported," said a source from the agency.
It was noted that all the UAVs were of the aircraft type. Another aircraft-type UAV fell in the territory of a military facility in Kubinka, Odintsovo District, Moscow Region. According to preliminary data, there are no injuries or destruction.
Later, the Russian Ministry of Defense also issued a statement regarding the incident. "This morning, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorism using five UAVs against facilities in the Moscow region and New Moscow has been thwarted. Four Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by air defense systems in the territory of New Moscow. Another UAV was suppressed by electronic warfare measures and was downed in the Odintsovo District of Moscow Region," the ministry's statement said.
The report also noted that there were no casualties or destruction as a result of the incident. TASS adds that due to security considerations, some flights from Vnukovo Airport have been redirected to other airports.
