The Peak of Unrest in France Has Passed, Says Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the peak of unrest in the country has passed. He made this statement during a meeting with local leaders at the Élysée Palace.

“We must be cautious about the upcoming days and weeks, but as you can see, the peak of unrest has passed,” Macron noted.

During the meeting, which was attended by 241 local leaders, Macron emphasized that the absolute priority now must be to ensure long-term order.

It is worth recalling that on the morning of June 27, police shot and killed a 17-year-old teenager in Nantes, located west of Paris, during a routine check after the youth allegedly refused to comply with their orders. Following this incident, unrest erupted in several cities across France, which has continued for several days. Special police units have been deployed in numerous cities, and helicopters and military vehicles have been put into action.
