This was reported by the IRNA news agency, citing a statement from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi after Iran became the 9th member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
President Raisi expressed hope that the country’s presence in this important and influential organization would create a platform for collective security, sustainable development, expansion of ties and communication, strengthening of unity, and respect for the sovereignty of nations more than ever before.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Iran’s accession to the SCO.
It is noteworthy that today, July 4, Iran officially became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as announced in the final declaration of the SCO summit.
