Cocaine Discovered on White House Grounds

The United States Secret Service, responsible for the protection of the nation's senior officials, is investigating an incident involving the discovery of white powder on the White House grounds on Sunday, which is presumed to be cocaine. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing service representative Anthony Guglielmi and other sources.

On Sunday evening, the suspicious substance was found. A firefighter specializing in hazardous materials, who responded to the scene, reported the discovery. “We found a yellow tape that read ‘cocaine hydrochloride.’ The test resulted in a positive for cocaine, but the amount was negligible. The Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi stated that experts are continuing additional investigations of the substance to determine how it ended up in front of the White House.

He noted that following the discovery of the suspicious substance, officials who were at the White House were temporarily evacuated. At the time, President Joe Biden was not in the building. “An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the causes and effects of the incident,” he added. Guglielmi declined to specify where and how the substance was discovered and how it was packaged. He mentioned that the powder was found during a search of the Secret Service's building.
