Anti-Terror Operations Will Last As Long As Necessary: Netanyahu on Actions in Palestine
The Israel-Palestine tension continues unabated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the extensive anti-terror operation conducted by the country’s security forces in the city of Jenin, located on the western bank of the Jordan River, will last as long as necessary.
Netanyahu also highlighted the purpose of the operation, which is aimed at ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens. “In recent months, Jenin has become a haven for terrorists; we will put an end to this,” the Prime Minister added.
Israel announced yesterday the initiation of an anti-terror operation near the city of Jenin and the adjacent refugee camp. The country’s army’s press service also reported that there has been gunfire exchanged between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militants.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel for targeting unprotected civilians instead of seeking a diplomatic resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There are reports of dozens of injuries and fatalities.
