The Supreme Judicial Council Suspends Powers of Several Judges
The Supreme Judicial Council announced during today's session that it has suspended the powers of several judges. Council President Karen Andreasyan made this statement during the council meeting.
The court was reviewing the motions of Acting Minister of Justice Levon Balyan.
By the Council's decision, judge Davit Harutyunyan of the first instance general jurisdiction criminal court of Yerevan was subjected to disciplinary action, resulting in the suspension of his powers.
In another session, disciplinary actions were also taken against Bankruptcy Court judge Samvel Tadevosyan, Appellate Civil Court judge Astghik Kharatyan, and judges Artak Barseghyan and Tigran Petrosyan of the Court of Cassation's Civil Chamber, all of whom had their powers suspended.
The court decided to terminate the proceedings regarding the disciplinary action against judge Samvel Tadevosyan, considering that his powers have already been suspended.
The decision is effective from the moment it is made and is final.
Council President Karen Andreasyan noted that judge Arshak Vardanyan has a special opinion on the matter.
