Former Head of Crimea SBU Accused of Treason

The former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Crimea, Oleg Kulinich, has been charged with state treason. Among other allegations, he is accused of espionage for Russia, illegal possession of weapons, theft, leading a criminal group, and unlawfully leaving military service. This was reported by the Russian service of the BBC.

At one time, Kulinich studied at the Academy of the FSB of Russia and served in the Federal Counterintelligence Service. It is believed that he continued to collaborate with Russian special services and even acquired the operational nickname 'Kotigorosko.'

“We did everything not only to detain a high-ranking traitor but also to gather strong evidence, based on which the court will be able to make its ruling,” said SBU chief Vasily Malyuk. “This is a clear signal to all those who work in favor of the enemy. The SBU will definitely find you and make you answer for your actions, regardless of where you hide.”

Kulinich was arrested last July. Since then, he has been suspected of being involved in the swift capture of the Kherson region by Russian soldiers.
